LEAVING NOW
10 minutes from leaving work with a lot of crap to do tomorrow and Thursday. I don't know how I'm going to chop up the responsibilities. Ugh.
Anyway, as you can tell it's been a fairly productive evening. And I got out my application for Chicago; am crossing my fingers for a job. I know I probably shouldn't put this on here, but I had torrible cramps yesterday and I felt like a suicidal preteen from Easter night until Monday evening. BUT now I'm a normal human being and feeling a better about myself. When I did have time to screw around, I was looking at all of my favorite blogs about racism and sexism and pop culture and all that other stuff that gets me excited. My musings actually led me here, LOL. Apparently there are a lot of scifi/fantasy communities here. I've been reading this book called Sisters of the Raven or something like that, and I am pretty sure I'm going to stop reading it because the cultural appropriation is killing me. It's a book about a people in the middle of the desert, with sheikhs (?) and djinn but everyone is blond with either blue or green eyes, and pale skin. Ridiculous. And frustrating, because I'm tired of romance novels and I can't find a lot of fantasy books/stories that interest me anymore. And on that same line, I refuse to read any JRR Tolkein. SNOOZE.FEST. Personal feelings. I tried. Sorry. PEACE.
