Because I couldn't sleep and decided to just get to work at 5am...
I have time to post random thoughts.
1. Actually glad I got up at 5am. I take Hollywood Blvd down from Matt's if I'm there. It, believe it or not, is usually the fastest east to west street till Fairfax where it ends. Well, this morning driving down it at 4:30am, I saw a ton of trucks, more than is normal for a premiere and bleachers like it was the Academy Awards. Then I remembered that the Harry Potter premiere in LA just happened and those kids were due to have their wands in cement. Too bad I'm not a fan of Harry Potter or I probably could have called into work and gotten a sweet spot for that. As it is, I was more relieved I wasn't trying to drive down Hollywood Blvd at 8:30am only to realize it was closed off. Hopefully it's all cleared away by the time I leave.
2. If you drive in the city at 4:30 it's quite beautiful sans traffic. I took this rare opportunity to take Wilshire the rest of the way to Robertson with Sara Bareilles' "City" playing full blast. Beautiful song. If you didn't read my Myspace rant, go out and buy her CD that was just released on Epic or download it or borrow it from me, or even better, you can go to her myspace, easily found by googling her name and listen to the songs she has up. I really hope she makes it big, she deserves it. Her lyrics are undescribable, and her voice is like a very raw Norah Jones type. I first saw her open for Gavin DeGraw and I bought her demo cd midway through her set.
Alright, tons of work to get on.
