Surprise Birthday

So this is a belated post regarding my birthday. Brittany, Jasmine and I were planning a super duper birthday bash for all of our birthdays. I thought it would just be a chill event, but I totally forgot about the alcohol aspect of parties. Even though I have been extremely tight on cash recently, I was pretty sure I could pitch in like $30 for alcohol. Then Brittany and Jasmine made a list of what they were all going to get and said that each of us would have to pay $50! My jaw dropped, not only did I not have the cash for it, I didn't want to spend that much on alcohol when I wouldn't be drinking any of it. Also, looking at the guest list, they were practically all Jasmine's and Brittany's friends so I was like, why am I paying for stranger's alcohol consumption?! Well luckily I got a check from school, reimbursing me, so I felt a little more comfortable forking the money over, but I wasn't thrilled.

The day of my birthday arose, which coincidentally was the same day as our super duper birthday party. I rolled out of bed close to 11am and went to the bathroom. I walked out, about to wash my hands (yea, our toilet is separate from the sink area) to stumble upon a single balloon floating in the middle of the floor that said "make a wish." I stared at it, utterly confuzzeld when all of a sudden Sharon and Brandon popped out of the adjacent rooms. I was in SHOCK! I was so surprised that I couldn't speak and I just kind of started laughing and sank to the floor. I seriously just woke up and used the restroom, so I must have looked horrible, thriller-esque! It was just so awesome to have my friends there to celebrate my birthday, but I felt bad since I had no idea what to do with them. We went out to eat and then we just hung out on the couch, which was nice. I can't really remember the last time I just seriously hung around and had time to sit on the couch and watch a movie.

Then we got ready for our party. The theme was the 20's, 50's and the 80's so Sharon and Brandon dressed in the 80s. Brandon looked so adorable and geeky with his "where's Waldo" shirt, "members only" jacket and ridiculously light wash tight jeans. Sharon pulled off a XL t-shirt that we just cut apart. We got to my party fashionably late and just said hi to everyone. Kirk, our old neighbor from Greystone apartments was there mixing drinks. So I believe he got a lot of my friends intoxicated, including Sharon. Sharon was absolutely hilarious! She was kind of falling all over the place and being a raccoon. :P Brandon was definitely at least tipsy and was throwing out racist and political jokes. Total dorks, but it was such a fun birthday. Also, Duldulao came from SF to visit me and hang around! It was freaking awesome and my birthday turned out to be a lot better than I expected.
I love my friends! <3
