Sure enough....
Kristen said it. She had given up. She was done. Checked out. And sure enough, Sean comes along, asks her out and BAM- Shes in a full blown relationship, the happiest shes ever been.
I pretty much got to my giving up point about 2 weeks ago. I really was convinced I would be a dysfunctional dating pin-ball, single forever. I really gave up.
Then Megan brings her roommate to Adam's party this weekend. As soon as he walked through that door, it was over. It wasn't right away, I had no idea of knowing. No way I could know that quick.
We hit it off, have hung out and spent time together every night since we met, just talking. Talking about life, love and aspirations. And Nintendo. And old school Nickelodeon.
Then TONIGHT was our first date. Like DATE date. Went to this pub with live jazz and chatted all night.
HE'S BASICALLY THE MALE VERSION OF ME. Just as geeky, likes the same things, has the same values, goals, philosophies, music taste, politics, he's even half-jew!
I could gush for pages, but I will say this- it is the best thing when honesty actually PROPELS the relationship! when you WANT to be honest, even about stupid little things you would normally keep to yourself. So we talked about LOTS of things, many of which, however, being about US. About our feelings, where we are, our intentions, just the healthiest lil' ol' conversation you could ever have!
We decided maybe thanksgiving break will be good. It will give us a couple of days alone, think about things and reflect, then come back and take it from there as we see fit.
I'd say he will fit into my life JUST FINE!!!
