Man. Havent updated in ages. My job is hard. really hard. Doable, but hard. Um...Had a good Christmas, Eric's parents and my parents are both coming to nyc in 2 weeks to meet eachother. James asked if we were serious. I think the secret's out. Um..I went to Boston for thangsgiving. It was fun. I lost my voice, but could talk the friday afterward. we went to boston and met up with rikky. we all went to the jfk library and lunch at this incredible brger place. rikkky is still the same and we had a great time.
Christmas was cool. Hung out, saw the family and went to San Diego. My brother is awesome. He is so much fun. He got us tickets to the chrger game and let me hang out with him new years eve. I cant believe I've reached a place where I like my brother. He is fun and helpful and smart. We actauuly talked about real life issues. I love my brother. Being at my dads wasnt great. They're buying a new house,. Why? Who knows. Kenya is 23? She'll be moving out soon, but they bought a house with a bedroom for her, brian, briana and a spare room for sports stuuf and a media room. Brian is 18. Why buy such a huge house? Whatever. I didnt like going, but it was good to see dad.
Oh. I went to Rio de Janiero. I saw the rolling stones in concert on the beach. We flew friday after schhol to soa paolo, brazil. Loooong flight. We landed about 7am. Brief layover and then a flight to rio. Rio was hot. So hot. It was 85 or higher the whole time. In rio we got a cab to the hotel. Not the classiest joint, but super clsoe to copacobana beach and it had a pool. My mom told me about the concert, but I didnt pay it too much attention. But, when we landed the pilot made an annoncement about it. The streets were closed down, so many peopel were selling stuff and it was mad. Eric and I stopped for lunch at this grilled chicken place then had a nap. It was a long, overnight flight. When we woke up, we went to the concert. There were so many people. Over 2 million people showed up. At first we had plenty of room, but as the night went on we got crowded in. Mick jagger is such a rock star. The ydid a ray charles son, nioght and day. It rocked. They left satisfation to the very end of course. They did start me up and you cant always get what you want near the end to. mick spoke to the audience in portuguese a little. Im so glad eric speak portugues. It was crazy people knowing thses songs in english when they speak another language. eu fui!
Then we beached it the next day. So hot. Water so nice. Then we did a tour of corcovado and the Christ Redentor statue. We on top of a mountaina nd could see the whole city. Amzaing. Ipanema, leme, so many beaches. Then we spent our last rio night on the beach. Sun went down. Enjoyed the waves. A cruise ship passed...it was lovely and relaxing. Then we went shopping for souveniers. I got a turquoise bikini and a hot brazil jacket. Then we went to dinner. Oh. And we saw a samba school practice.
Carnaval statrts today. we missed t cause school starts monday. Anyway, last weekend we went to a Carnaval rehearsal. Carnaval is a huge deal. All the samba schools practice all year for a big prize and bragging rights. They write a new song and have a new theme and intrictae, fantastic costumes. Anyway, at the rehearsal a ton of people came to watch. We saw neiga flor (pretty flower) rehearse. They've won the past three years. It was spectacular. So many people and dancers and flippers and the samba! Wow. the show started at 930, but peopel sat waiting since around 5. Mick came too. Afterwards there's partying, but we were tired. I was a little drunky, too. Then we flew to Iguazu. This is on the other side of Brazil. They have the biggest waterfall complex in the world. 250 waterfalls. They were remarkable. We stayed at a cushy hotel with a view of the falls. Everyone said those falls were nothing, they were small. I was like, whatever, those are big falls. I was wrone, Devil's throat is huge. So huge. I cant describe. It was a gian waterfall wherever you turned. Water rushing into this huge chasm and mist getting us all wet. We toured devil's throut and then saw others. At one oint, we hiked down to the river, got in a boat and went near the falls. We were right in it and were drenched. So much water, I could hardley see. It was liek I'd jumped into a poll fully clothed. Then we had lunch, so another up close view of the falls and then left. Oh. And we took a jeep rifr thriugh a rain forrest. it was amazing. We saw a tree that is an aphrodisiac and used in Cahnel No. 5 perfume. After all of this, we were exhaused. We smaw in the pool for the rest of the day. Next day, we swam some more and played ping pong.
Flew to soa paolo. Landed at 9pm for a flight the jfk at 12am. It was cancelled. We had to stay at a holiday inn unti;l the next morning's flight. We arrived last night around 9pm. It was a good flight. We made ut through the leaving process- (off the plane, customs, luggage, cab, home) in remarkable time. Maybe 5 min to do the official stuff. School monday. Going to make a scrapbook tonight, so i gotta get pics developed and go to barnes and noble. bon noiche.
