number one was so unsettling, at the end. Totally not what I expected, and it turned that whole, "Sam sort of kind of sometimes compares Jess to Dean" trope right on its head. oy!
Number two was TERRIBLE!! As in heart-stopping, ungodly bad parenting terrible. The writing was *brilliant*!
I closed my eyes on number three and winced my way through four--that was powerful, as well.

Yeah, that first one didn't come out the way I expected either. Sam just insisted on seeing Dean that way. :) I'm happy when I can turn a trope on its head, though. Doesn't happen often but I love it when it does!
Haha, I tried, I really did, to make them older and more beer-wanting teens, but it just wouldn't work. John, John, John. *shakes my head at him*

John feeling the need to desensitize his boys early, to take the edge off of their lives. It's messed up good intentions and I love it.
Also, Azazel inside John is always the best, especially when he's forcing John into the most fucked up thoughts about his sons. *shivers with how wonderfully awful it is*
And, of course, Sam's heaven... I love this so much. The specifics of what Sam remembers because of course he would - them obviously young and fumbly but just wanting it. That little 700-ficlet makes me wanna cry almost as much as that entire episode did.
