Sam ignites the last candle with flick of his fingers, the soft glow of a thousand flames reflected in his brother’s eyes. Sliding his arms under Dean’s knees and shoulders, he lifts him from the bed using only his own strength. He doesn’t need his power for this; doesn’t want it. Dean twitches in panic against his brother’s hold as Sam cradles him gently; a cherished possession that’s cracked but not yet shattered beyond repair.
Shhh, baby, it’s okay. Sam presses kisses into the tangled knots of Dean’s hair, whispers softly into his ear. Sammy’s gonna take care of you.
