Snowflake Challenge Day 1

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

This is going to be tough.  I'm not sure what defines me as a creator, but I'm think I'm going to pick my favorite dark/slash fic, my favorite non-dark/slash fic and do the same for my gen fics and my drabbles and we'll see what they say about me.  :)

1. Dark/Slash:   Sam's Time of the Month is near and dear to my heart, but, as the first thing I ever wrote, it's got issues and I'm going to go with Run .  It's technically part of the Acoustics 'verse, but it can definitely be read as a stand alone and, really, it's more suspense than it is actual gore or sex.  So it's both Acoustic-y in that Dean's being hunted by something  terrible and he doesn't know what and not in that it's not at all graphic.  Which is kind of why it's my favorite dark fic.  It showed me I could write effective horror without shoving the gore in reader's faces.

2. Non-dark/Slash:   Another really tough choice but I'm going with Tea and Sympathy .  Most of my fics start out as prompts from some exchange or meme or other and this one...I couldn't resist it.  Sneezy, sniffly Sam and brokenleg!Dean just caught my funny bone and wouldn't let go.  I really love it when my muse goes with the humorous words.

3.  Dark/Gen:  Flashback Actually, I take it back.  This was the first horror I wrote that was a little understated.  From the sharp_teeth horror prompt meme (where there are probably all sorts of tasty things still waiting to be filled).  Post hell trauma Dean is one of my favorite Deans and this story has him in spades.  "Sam's been begging his brother to talk to him-to tell him what happened in the pit, but he wishes he'd never found out about this."

4. Non-dark Gen:  This might be the toughest choice because my gen is generally angsty, if not actually dark and the light and fluffy ones (there are a few) aren't up there with my very favorites.  I've got to say that in my opinion (LOL)all of my remixes are among the best things I've written and the best of them might, maybe, be Out Of The Dark (The Barbara Rose Remix) .  I remixed   adrenalineshots fic  Barba Rossa for a hoodie_time challenge.  I loved her outsider POV of the E.R. staff and wanted to work with the Dean POV on their assumption that Dean was drunk, not injured.  Lord, I missed the remix comms on LJ and AO3 this year.  Maybe next year they'll be back (keeps fingers crossed).

5.  Dark drabble/Slash:  I'm not going with an Acoustics drabble here because I couldn't pick one.  :)  And my second choice has 200 words so that's out too.  I'm going to go with one I really love, though-  more post hell trauma Dean.  Burning

6.  Non-dark drabble/Slash:  Worth the Trip   It never fails to amaze Sam how far Dean will go to satisfy his appetite.  I've got to get back into drabble writing mode.  It's been too long.

7.  Dark drabble/Gen:  Work Ethic When Dean's got a job to do, he's going to do it the best that he can.

8.  Non-dark drabble/Gen:  You're getting two of these because I'm tired of making decisions.  One angtsy, one adorable; you decide which is which.  :)  Wrecks and Restoration One of my first drabbles after I discovered drabble prompt comms.  How hard is it to put something back together right?  And Sammy, one of the few things I've written that may be cavity inducing.

Well, it did say AT LEAST three things, so have eight!  I'd appreciate any discussion you all might have on my choices and if you've got thoughts on what your favorites are.
