Avoidance
“I’m just going to the library, Dean.” Or “ I’m just going for a walk.” Sam’s lying, Dean knows he is, but he can’t acknowledge it, can‘t call his brother on it. That would involve talking. Arguing about things Dean doesn’t want to admit. Sam’s sneaking out with Ruby. Honing his powers. Leaving Dean out of what he’s really doing. Leaving Dean behind. Sam doesn’t want to be the little brother anymore. What Dean wants doesn’t matter. What the angels want doesn’t matter. Sam’s going to do this his way. He’s strong and powerful and he’ll take care of everything.
