Same for me, reading is one of the only things I have going for me these days too! 😂 I’ll have to do this book meme as well! Keep ‘em coming, haha!
Like you said in your answer to the last question, I too like to keep my books in pristine condition! The only time I’ve written in a book it was in very light pencil and it was a college text book. I was able to erase my note and sell it back easily! Otherwise I never write in books or - gods forbid - highlight anything in them! 😱
I own a Kindle Paperwhite (the 1st version Amazon came out with) and I love it! It’s really convenient because you can change how bright or dark the screen is, as well as changing the typeface and font size for your Kindle - which is definitely helpful with eye-strain! Sadly color comics don’t work well on the Kindle but I have had a good experience with reading black & white manga (I recently read Tomie and Uzumaki by Junji Ito on my Kindle and had no problems with size or anything). I use my Kindle so much I have to charge it about once a week but it charges very quickly. I also recently bought a cover for mine (this one) and when it closes the Kindle goes “to sleep” so you don’t have to worry about manually turning it on and off all the time and it doesn’t kill the battery at all. Depending on which option you choose for storage, you can remove books you’ve already read from your Kindle to save on space but you can easily download them again from your Kindle library if you want to read them again. Apparently there is also a way to “loan” books to other Kindle users; I haven’t tried this out yet but I plan to share some books with my mom in the future so we’ll see how this goes lol! I still read physical books all the time, but if I’m traveling or reading at the gym it is really convenient to use my Kindle instead! So, here’s a glowing review from me. 😆
ya i think you're right. the paperwhite seems to be the best option for me. i'm having such a difficult time finding one that's used that isn't ad-supported. i remember having to help my s/o's dad setup a kindle fire for his parents and the ads are god-awful. it's $150 right now~ such a steep asking price for an e-reader @_@ if you know anyone willing to let go of their no-ad paperwhite, lemme know LOL
