Madele's construction: basically 5gal round water bottle with ~ 1.5in of spray-foam insulation & reflective foil.
Honey Baked Heat 2 (ours) performed better: higher mean (~22C), smaller range (~10C), and didn't free elf (min ~2C). overall, HBH2 performance is 2nd in about 15 houses. thermal mass includes 10l of water and ~2.5kg of slate. only have the plot for HBH2, no chart yet. will update later.
one of the elf houses got knocked off, and buried in snow due to small foot print and high pitched roof. another got soaked. ours was pretty good. still need to improve: lowering range and getting rid of fog.
