Sculpture the Birth of a New Man

Apr 08, 2006 04:12

we all emerge from golden shells
flightlessly indignant
together we rise with diamond eyes
fruitlessly indisposed
sculpture the birth of a new man
fated to be someone you are not

some will seek to chase smoke signals
magic fires fuel secret messages
an oven that is locked in a temple of marble
hidden behind hills of untouched grass

we all wish to lay by the warmth
wordlessly complacent
together to drowse with daydreams to share
ruthlessly idealized
sculpture the birth of a new man
to mold the face of perfection

some will join in a joyeous migration
through forests that echo laughter
to lands of green that remain under northern snow
unhurried steps will meet them well

we all will make it through alive
timelessly understood
spirits fly in your laughing eyes
blissfully innocent
sculpture the birth of a new man
the day we find safety at last
