Feeding Spirits

Apr 18, 2005 00:59

to respect the ground that held our feet
a service to the dirt
there we found that we were free
generations of ritual had let us see
all you truly need is hope
and to cherish every single tree
there is no respect in you
with numbing heart and drunken brain
for the sands you land upon
or the world from whence you came
if only you could stop and see
how easy it actually is to be
yet the happiness you trifle toward
will set an endless strife for glee
forests of silent dignity
subjugated spirituality
though anyone can make a god
who'll take the time to try?
for those who seek to be a god
watching others worship a lie
learn that you can weild a god
content when the time comes to lay down and die
