Cookies are a "sometimes" food?!

It's a sad day in the world when people decide to censor a childhood icon. The overt stupidity and want to find a scapegoat has led to the beloved "cookie monster" being censored. Apparently the cookie monster has come to realise the error of his ways and will no longer be singing "c" is for cookie. In the fight against childhood obesity someone got word to the cookie monster that cookies aren't good for you if you eat them all the time. So instead of singing as he has done since his creation of how "c" is for cookie and that's good enough for him he now sings a propaganda melody about how cookies are a "sometime" food. I am saddened by the fact that parents refuse to take the blame for their child's nutrition and instead look for someone to blame. So it is of course the cookie monster's fault that children eat a lot of cookies instead of the parents telling their little tub of lard that no he can't have a cookie.

It is saddening to see such a thing and I'm sure that if parents read this rant then they would accuse me of having no idea about raising children. I say to them, my parents appear to have done a fine job of raising me. I'm not some fat-arsed morbidly obese teenager. When I wanted a cookie and I already had a few my parents told me no. If I argued back you know what happened? My parents weren't spineless and gave me a cookie to shut me the hell up. No, they disciplined me, I'd cop a smack or maybe loose cookie privileges for a day or two. I may have had a tantrum or two when I was young but I didn't get that cookie. Now my parents controlled my nutrition, you can't say that my ideas are wrong if I am proof of them working. Seriously instead of laying the blame on a child icon who has existed for several generations of kids and teens and adults, you should take the blame yourself. If your kid is a fat tub of lard from eating too many cookies then it is YOUR fault as the way they got cookies was from you, not from the cookie monster.

For those who say that it makes a parent's job easier then I'm sorry but those people shouldn't be parents if they can't cope with something as simple as denying a child a cookie. Parenting is not an easy job and anyone who tries to cop out fails as a parent, their kids don't learn and they have no example for how a person should act. I'll still remember "c" is for cookie and I am not ashamed to say I still listen to that song when driving with friends. Lazy parents leave the icons alone and work on your own damn act.
