Oh and that I feel L's pain in staking the lives of vampires. They were all human at one time and I agree that I'd probably do his job with the same kind of remorse. The humanizing he does each time he "kills" one of the undead is really lovely.

I honestly think part of my planning for this fic was my brain going "How many cliffhangers can I put one after the other without the audience tracking me down and killing me?" XD

L pitched the empty pistol at his face.

The vampire stopped smiling.

Haha, I've always really liked vampires as a mythological figure, though Twilight has soured that for me more than a little... to the effect that I take digs at it whenever possible. XD
