I've got to admit I was a little skeptic at first, but I think you did a really good work with this. Somehow it all fits together so nicely, the way the ghost voices interact with Near, and Near's own interaction with Gevanni-- I loved how Near decided to keep them by his side instead of getting rid of their voices. Everyone's so IC in this even though it's a completely different scenario from the usual DN world. Well done! :DDD

Aww, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D You know, I honestly wasn't sure how it was going to end until I'd almost gotten there, so I'm glad that it sounds like I made the right choice! XD

A while ago I had mentioned it to a friend how much Haley Joel Osment reminded me of Near while I re-watched the Sixth Sense. Then I read your fic summary, had a squee, and then read the fic, too. Very bittersweet. I laughed a few times, especially because of Mello and Matt's dialogue, but then the hospital scene was very poignant. And the cute parts! There is not nearly enough NearxGevanni out there! I enjoyed the fic a lot ♥

It was definitely something else/fun/a challenge writing them the way I did... because I almost always save them from canon, and dealing with the aftermath is not usually on my agenda. XD Especially in Light's case, there was a lot I wanted to say in that context that I hadn't previously realized I wanted to say at all. XD He never gets a chance to think it over/apologize/whatever, and reconciling Kira with a Light who knows what he's done and has finally paid the price was really fun to play with.

WAHHH, Gevanni can bake me cookies any time he damn well wants, lol. XD I got so hungry writing that part, hahaha. XD
