After a long, lonely 5 hour busride from London to Manchester, I finally got back to my little home in England (Garstang, Flat 08, Room 061) safe and sound at 1:00am in the morning. Where did I go for 18 days out of my 24 days of Spring Break?
Barcelona, Spain
Paris, France
the Alps (Chamonix, France)
Milan, Italy
Florence, Italy
Venice, Italy
Munich, Germany
Rosenheim, Germany
Stuttgard, Germany
Salzburg, Austria
Prague, Czech Republic
In 2 1/2 weeks, I've backpacked 7 countries and 11 cities in Western and Central Europe with Andy Chen and Mike Lawson, both students at UCSD but studying at the University of Bristol for the year. After all the cheap food, one star hotels, and 1st class unlimited train travel from the Eurail pass, we each spent less than $2000 in the whole of our trip. Damn straight we were RUGGED.
hello, my name is Joy, and my life is on my back.
this is our 4star hotel on top of the main train station in Barcelona. I don't know how we got it for the price of a cheap hotel, but thank Mike that he discovered it.
This was an outdoor market, spanning about 2 blocks of what you see in the background-- SO colorful. Never in my life have I seen such big, colorful, delicious, and such CHEAP prices for the array of fruit, meat, and bread. This would be my dream place to grocery shop. We bought grapes, kiwis, mangos, fruit juice, hams, salamis, and cheeses for a picnic out at the pier.
Me and Jingyi reppin it up urban style (^__^)\/ The street graffiti in Barcelona is AMAZING, it's so artistic and vibrant, you see this type of artwork all around the streets of Barcelona, urban artwork at its finest, I think.
A neo-gothic cathedral, still under construction. "The Temple of the Sagrada Familia"
Inside looks like Rivendell from Lord of the Rings, it was super cool.
Keepin the streets of Barcelona clean and odor-free
other cities still pending for update... as you can tell, there's a lot more to show and explain (about 1500 total pictures taken b/w the 3 of us, and 50pgs of journal writing)
