The first day's batch of Purimgifts fics is up! I'm putting off reading any of them, except for the one I got, in an attempt to be a good person who takes her studies seriously, but the list of fandoms makes me very very happy.
I'm very glad I'm not a good enough person to have put off reading my gift, though. And whether or not you're also a good person who takes some other things seriously, if you've ever read Sense and Sensibility, you should go forth and read it, too. A quiet, absolutely beautiful look at Marianne (and Elinor) after the end of the book.
I'm not entirely pleased with my own contribution to the first day, so uh, go ahead and read everything before the author reveal... (I've actully written more in the last few months than I have in a very long time (possibly even without ignoring the bandom period), although most of it wasn't fandom-y, and I signed up figuring that between that and exam period, I was pretty much safe on the writing inspiration front. I should maybe have remembered that once, long ago, I'd decided my muse's name was probably Randy, short for Random. And that nothing's really changed since then.)
HOWEVER, I can take comfort in the fact that I'm definitely still doing better than this.
Also found during non-physiology time: this Firefly-Serenity-Defying Gravity vid, which most likely everyone's seen before (including, apparently, Joss), and this clip from a documentary, a painful piece of real life that never occurred to me before: LGBTQ Elders go back into the closet to survive.
ETA: Mostly to satisfy my curiousity about whether my style's as obvious as I think: if your memory's good enough that you remember my style, guess which one is mine and win awesome prizes! Which is to say, one day when the muse returns I'll write you a thing. If you're lucky, that'll be after my next exam, so there won't be any featuring of characters' kidneys.
