Homeless people probably have a better than average chance of being interesting, but I do get what you're saying. (Although I think it's less fandom/LJ and more the places I end up looking at -- less talking to everyone at work than choosing which work spaces to step into. Going random places in fandom often makes me go o.O, though usually not to the same degree.)
I would love to know what people think about various news items (well, not really, BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS)
I keep finding myself deciding that opinions that are idiotic or insane clearly don't actually count in trying to assess the average opinion. I know by now that doesn't actually work, both because averages don't work that way (at least not when there are so many idiotic/insane opinions) and because if it did, more than one political party would be out of work, not to say all of them. But hey, I also know the average opinion doesn't actually exist and yet I'm still trying. Futility is fun!
