And yet more Leverage

May 02, 2009 21:04

I've finally gotten back to watching Leverage. I have to ask, am I seriously the only person who thinks CK's hair kind of works for him? Not that he couldn't still use some conditioner.

- I have some serious bitterness over this whole 'oh yes, we just spent two weeks in motels' off-camera business. Seriously, they go SPN and it's not worth showing us? I'm not even asking for Hardison and Eliot sharing a room. I'm asking for Sophie refusing to share a room with Parker because she won't be able to sleep. I'm asking for Parker rapelling off the town church in the middle of the night. ...Well, okay, at this point I can't tell which of them actually spent time in motels, and I assume their covers wouldn't allow for group meals in diners, but somthing, come on.

- I love small towns in shows, even when they're ridiculously unrealistic.

- I also still love Nate the Cowboy, but, at least out of respect for his international fans who have enough trouble with their own language, he really should cut down on the mumbling-and-accent combo.

- It's not that I want less Nate and Sophie (though I still hope Sophie gets more interesting), and it's not that I want less plot (because it's nice to have a show where the ridiculousness is the baseline and all the good parts are awesome), I just want another half-hour or so on each ep of the three kids interacting. They don't even have to talk! I find their body language hilarious by itself. Eliot jumping off the fence and Parker striding off to the bank in annoyance are somehow already glee inducing. Of course, then Hardison calls the sheriff adorable and I remember why they should also have lines.

- Aw, Sophie! There you go, being more interesting. I already like that this week's cover isn't her usual MO; stepping up to be the hero isn't something I'd think was her MO, either -- not necessarily so much as a person, just as a written character.

- I'm taking it as an acting choice that Parker mostly does an excellent fifteen-year-old-girl-pretending-to-be-an-FBI-agent. It really is an excellent imitation, though...

- Ooh. I think this is my favorite plot so far, and definitely my favorite Sophie episode.

- "I'm a thief!" "Okay... I'm not sure what to do with that." Ha! Awesome delivery. Also, seriously, poor guy.

...Little show, did you seriously just fade out on oh-my-god-Nate's-dead? This is your fifth episode, come on. I'll pretend to work up the suspense for the season finale, maybe.

Okay, this was also a great Hardison episode, and yes, Sophie, thanks for reminding me: the marriage proposal and the geeky babies are still on. I should've downloaded ep 6 so I could just go on to it now...
