September is going to be a crazy busy month for me.

I got Friday off which was good. Didn't get as much written as I wanted, which was bad. But I got to see a friend's new house in a trendy part of town which was lovely. It's a really neat little house: very cute, very suitable, and manageable for her.

And on Saturday I went to the auction of her other house out in suburbia, which was both exciting and kind of funny. She was really nervous, and they had a reserve price which they weren't sure would get met. It got met, and then some. But during the 20 mins of the auction, it POURED like CRAZY: you could barely hear the auctioneer (who had an umbrella over his head) and the agents were running back and forth with bids and getting utterly soaked.

Anyway, house sold, all happy, yay.

Sunday was hockey. Lots and lots of hockey. Two games on the field - A grade and D grade, and one padded up in goals C grade. We lost all of them, but played really well in all of them. Our defence is really solid, but none of our attacks can quite get it together enough to get past their defence. I have some thoughts on that, but I don't know if I should say something to the coaches.

And I got whacked on the hand twice: once with someone else's stick, once by the ball. Worse still: the once by the ball was on its way into the goal, so the goal was disallowed and my knuckles are black and blue.

Either way, today I'm really really sore - not just on the hand, either. Everything's stiff and sore and ouch and ugh. And my head feels a bit fuzzy, because I think I'm coming down with a cold - the faintly sore throat, the sense of stuffiness in the nose, the slightly muzzy head.

Of all the times...

The project go-live is next Monday. This week will be bad, the weekend will be worse, and next week will be beyond imagining.

Right now, I'm thinking I won't finish Marvel Bang after all - I have two other things due in the next week, and they're both exchanges, which means that someone will be waiting on my submission, so I have to finish those. And Marvel Bang is kind of stalling on me: it's blown out and exactly how the ending takes place is becoming uncertain. I could maybe get to the 80% point by Thursday 2pm (time it needs to be due in according to my timezone), but I think it would take everything I've got. And I don't have much to spare right now.

House sale is coming to a close. We settle in one week. One. Week. *breathes* Have to get all our moneys lined up so the bank can take the cheques to settlement.

And then the renovations are due to start. Quote is less than I was expecting, but I also expect it to blow out a little. (These things always do.) We have the budget for it, and - as my sister observed last night - there's something to be said for getting it done before we move in and then not having to worry about it for a while.
