Final reminder: Teyla Thing-A-Thon sign-ups end this Sunday!

So far, there's 12 sign-ups.

Which is pretty good for anything related to Teyla, but still a little sad-making.

It's always been such a struggle to get anyone to produce anything about her or support anything Teyla-related. Oh, everyone thinks Teyla is awesome, but that rarely translates into activity about her, or promotion of her.

A few months back, jeyla4ever asked me for recs for Teyla-centric authors. And I couldn't give her any. I couldn't give her any, because just about all the authors I thought of "occasionally wrote Teyla amidst writing John, or Team, or McShep" or "wrote John/Teyla but were more into John" or "liked Teyla but didn't really write about her". There are writers who are "Teyla-positive" but none who I could think of as wholly "Teyla-centric". There was nobody that I could think of who was focused on Teyla as a character the way other fans focus on John or Rodney or Ronon or Elizabeth. Teyla might be a main character, but I couldn't think of anyone for whom I could definitively say she was the star of their personal fanon.

Even a look through my story archives show that I write as much about the team and John/Teyla and individual characters as I do about Teyla. The reason I'm known as a fan of Teyla is because I was usually the one promoting stuff about her, running ficathons that had anything to do with her, agitating for news and information about her story in the show, or asking for Teyla to be included in the stories written for me in ficathons.

I admit, I had my hopes up for a really amazing turnout for this Thing-a-thon. (Also because it's due on my birthday and would have been an awesome birthday present to get a bunch of Teyla-centric love.)

I'll have to be happy with 'pretty good' and I will be happy with 'pretty good' ...but I've always hoped that one day all the people who "planned to write/produce something about Teyla" would get their act together and chip in for a ficathon or a loveathon or a thingathon along with those who always have and still do love her and produce fanworks about her.

Today is clearly not that day.
