I think Will is the only one who realises it because he's the only other one who came in from the outside in recent times.

The Sanctuary is Helen, and the Big Guy's been there since the Old City one was built. Henry's spent almost all his life there.

Will came in from the outside; invited and welcomed, but he still has remembers the outside, even if he's made the transition. Kate's made the transition to inside the Sanctuary, even though she still faces out and has strong ties to the outside. So Will's trying to cope with the cutoff from the outside, while Kate continues to maintain her connections outside (because her role in the Sanctuary depends on it).

I really like this. I also like the fact that there's a "normal" person out there who doesn't run screaming into the night when faced with what they do.

Although, can he handle it in the long run? That's the question.

And Will? Poor Will. He's halfway in love with Kate and doesn't even see it (or want to admit it).

Ummm...will we see a continuation of this? Since you said that it was originally supposed to be longer?

Please? LOL

Can he handle it in the long run? That is indeed the question!

And Will doesn't even know he's falling, poor guy.

I'm...not sure. The second half doesn't fit the first, but I'm thinking a piece from Kate's POV would make a nice contrast, perhaps.

I love angst! Except Will's not one you can turn the angst up to 11 with. (Nor is Kate, really.)

Glad you like it!

That's okay. There are other ways and means of dealing with them...

Poor Will, being overlooked and yet it seems right on some level. :(

So bittersweet I absolutely loved it.
