ahahahaha, it's so fitting rodney is a cranky writer, john's the stand-in, teyla would be the female lead and whatever ronon does (stuntman?)

I was thinking about nabbing this one from the regular list, and decided against it since I already had enough on my plate. But this little story insisted on making its way out... :D

I really wanted to bring in Patrick (DH's character in A Dog's Breakfast) but didn't have the time. Put him, Marilyn, Rodney, and Jeannie in the same room, and watch the McKays take out the...whatever-the-ares. :D
Double trouble!

Now I want to watch a Dog's Breakfast.
Oh so much to love about this. Rachel's natural hair! Ronon's broad shoulers! John's "we're sunk" comment, at which I burst out laughing. ...No, wait, still stuck at Ronon's broad shoulders. Hmm...Ronon.
Okay, moving on... I totally love the Carson cameo and the confusing family tree (although I totally get it; I read Nora Roberts) comments and everyone being all "Oh shit!" when they thought it was the star. And was that a sort of Firefly shoutout with Kaylee or was it just a similar-sounding name to Kate and Katie? Either way is good.
In short: Awesome!

Okay, I burst out laughing at this!
And, yes, it was a Firefly shout-out. Because Kaylee would either work in the prop shop or in general engineering making things about the studio work.

Oh good! I wasn't sure anyone else would get that...
Yay for Firefly shout-out! Kaylee would be the, "I don't know what she actually does but we couldn't work without her" person on set.

Probably when Teyla isn't around, since Teyla would also be the kind of person who would ask, most practically, "Where did you last see them?"

Snarky in-jokes about Mallozzi and his ego? Never.

The references, jokes, and meta-meta are always the best part of writing these AUs, really.
