But What Did Obama Ever Do For Us? The Robby Horror Mower Show:
Let's do the lawn mow again! --
Chickpea Tikka Masala (Washington Post)
Bread - from a mix, but I used a 'slow rise' option and let it rise overnight. The resultant dough was lovely and puffy, but it didn't rise again as high. I think it needs longer and warmer to rise properly and I don't much like the mix taste, won't use that one again (came in box with 4 portions, took forever to get through).
It's too thick and heavy and didn't rise enough. Now, that might have been because it wasn't warm enough to give the yeast the 'lift' it needed, but even so, I'm not really happy with the taste.
Something else I made and am happy with the flavour is Hot Cross Buns!
Recipe was from Donna Hay (a staple of Australian cookbooks before the Masterchef home cooking craze), and turned out really well in spite of me forgetting both the egg and the butter! (But I did think it was a bit dry, so I added cream, so...that kind of gave it boost, I think?)
They were sitting in the warm space above the oven to rise while I was baking the bread and they did rise really beautifully. But it's supposed to be 12 buns and I squished 16 in there and I think they weren't large enough to really get the right shape.
Next time.
And a long time after my stepbrother gave me a paella pan, I finally made paella in it!
Jamie Oliver recipe, it worked out pretty well. Mind you, cleaning off the pan wasn't fun. I heard that the really good pans don't actually get washed with soap and water, you just...wipe it down or something?

Other than that, I've been trying not to feel guilty about not writing more. I can't seem to actually finish a manuscript. I mean, yes, this is me.
Also: the short story that got in the anthology? I won't get paid for it. It's name branding only. To that end, I really need to write a few short, smutty stories under the same name. I should be able to do this. I just struggle a lot with finishing stories. I know I have good ideas, I just can't write them in a month or whatever.

Writing links, I'm sure I've posted these before, but anyway.
