I have 854 works posted on AO3, and that's not actually the complete set. I have a lot of pre-2008 fic that has never made it onto AO3 (SG1, Justice League, Angel, Buffy, SGA) and which I simply don't have the time or inclination to transfer over. (Not to mention no wish to spam my poor subscribers.)
What are your first and second most common work ratings?
General Audiences (359)
Teen and Up (294)
What's your most common archive warning? Least common?
No Archive Warnings Apply (723)
Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings (100)
Do you consider yourself an adventurous writer?
No, not really. I write the characters I love because if I don't, chances are high that nobody else will give them love. So I find my groove and I write it. I write variations on a theme, but the theme is generally along the same lines, and I suspect my readers - the people who've subscribed to my AO3 account - quite like it that way.
How many stories have you made in each pairing category?
F/M (459)
Gen (427)
M/M (17)
Multi (13)
F/F (12)
Is this more accidental, or do you have preferences?
I don't think this is ever accidental. I'm het, and female-character focused, and I like het because it provides an opportunity to write het relationships that are far better than they would be in real life. And I suspect if you went through my gen, you'd find that there are certainly relationships (het and otherwise) in that gen, just that the relationship is not part of the focus of the story.
A lot of the m/m I've written is just because I get good responses. Multi tends to be because I love the female character and want her to get all the guys. F/F tends to be either character focused or as part of a sedoretu story.
What are your top 4 fandoms by numbers?
Stargate Atlantis (268)
Marvel Cinematic Universe (263)
The Avengers (Marvel Movies) (92)
Pacific Rim (Movies) (68)
Captain America (Movies) (61)
Stargate SG-1 (47)
Merlin (TV) (25)
Due to the category-spread of the MCU, I feel some further detail is required. I tagged my early MCU fics 'Avengers', and then as things got broader, just 'MCU' generally. Ditto with the Cap movies. So they're all a little blurred.
Are you still active in any of them, and do you tend to migrate a lot?
I might be closest to active in MCU; I'm still writing there. Everything else is off the table.
What are your top 4 relationship tags?
Maria Hill/Steve Rogers (139)
Teyla Emmagan/John Sheppard (98)
Raleigh Becket/Mako Mori (48)
Maria Hill & Steve Rogers (31)
I feel like one of the next two on the list - Clint Barton/Natasha Romanov and Samantha "Sam" Carter/Jack O'Neill might look very different if I'd actually posted all the SG1 fic that I actually wrote from 2001 to 2006. It might even rival Mako/Raleigh. But most of my Sam/Jack and SG1 team fics have never been put up on AO3.
What are your top 4 character tags?
Teyla Emmagan (225)
Maria Hill (223)
John Sheppard (208)
Steve Rogers (180)
Maria is drawing very very close to Teyla...
Does this match how you feel about the characters, or are you puzzled?
No, that pretty much matches how I feel about the characters. Maria is coming up to the same length of time as Teyla this year - five/six years/seasons, so it's not unusual.
What are your top 2 most used additional tags, and your bottom 2?
Top two: Friendship (179) and Angst (123)
Bottom two: Character Study (50) and Post-Canon (45)
What would happen if you combined all 4 of these into a fic?
Probably what I usually do. A character study in friendship, the highs and lows of life, after the end of a canon storyline.
How many WIPs do you have currently running on AO3? Any you don't plan on finishing?
19 works marked as WIPs. Some are 'series' that are posted in separate chapters with a related theme (the one with all the AUs), a couple are 'start of something, works as a standalone, but never got past the cool idea stage', and a few are EPIC FAIL (it was a cool idea that never reached the endpoint or got derailed by canon halfway through).
I've only opened the files on 3 of them in the last year, and one is
the other side of infinity which is presently burning my hard drive at 52K words (the 'notes and rejected scenes' file is 127K words) and getting larger by the day.
The Gathering Clouds is getting stuck on infodumping, and
Daughter of the Morrigan is still working out a conflict and UST.
The completion of both of those will depend how I feel about any MCU stuff after Endgame. I may not be in a mood to finish stuff off...
