I'm so bad at posting these, aren't I? I get lazy, I mean.. I haven't written anything forever! I think I might have writer's block with this. Though, the outline is still in my head. I know where I want to go, it's just the whole process of how to get there. I just can't think.
This has been in my notebook forever, but I never got it typed out yet. Until now. So, if you've just tuned it. This is part three of my story, Dark Room. If you need to catch up, parts
ONE and
TWO are there. But don't read this part until you've caught up! You might be a little confused.
I apologize if it is sucky and for any grammar errors that Word might not have caught. But, enough of my rambles. Here's part three of...

Mitch was babying in the corner near the stairs leading to the dark room surrounded by his posse when Kat and Mel came back up to see their pictures. Kat had been ready to ask Mel to continue the story; how could someone fail to tell this Josh guy the place was dangerous? And why didn’t Josh ask? Sounded like a typical guy thing to do. But Mitch had distracted her with, “I’ll be telling my father’s lawyers about this, Wolf. Then you’ll be sorry!”
Kat rolled her eyes, “God you’ve always been a baby. I didn’t hit you that hard, you deserved it anyway, you…”
Melaney nudged her, trying to calm her before she lost her temper again. “He’s not worth it,” she told her quietly.
Katherine took a breath and nodded a bit before looking down at Mel’s picture first. “Could use some burning up there in the sky area,” she told her. It’s what they did, helped each other. They were a bit more advanced than the other students in this class, since they picked up on things watching their fathers do this.
Melaney gave a nod. “Yours looks perfect,” she commented, looking at Katherine’s picture. Kat just nodded slightly, looking down at her own picture and smiled slightly. It really was a nice shot.
“Well lookie here,” Mitch burst out, his injury forgotten as he stared at the door. He nudged a couple of the guys around him, smirking a bit before moving forward, his posse hung back, chuckling among themselves.
Melaney and Katherine both looked up. Kat had glared slightly at Mitch’s crew before watching Mitch closely. She didn’t have a good view on what was going on. Mel on the other hand could see almost perfectly. A girl walked in, who she didn’t think she’s ever seen before; the first thing she noticed where her bright, bright blue eyes, then her raven black hair. The girl wore black make up, and her skin was white. Your first thought would be that this girl was a goth, but not Mel. She liked to see the good in people. And in her eyes, she didn’t look goth. It could also be because the girl was wearing a pair of old jeans that were torn in the knees and a light green tee shirt with Tinkerbell on it. There was a camera around her neck.
“What’s going on?” Katherine asked, shifting closer to Melaney. She couldn’t see past Mitch’s gang. “Who’s she?”
Melaney shrugged. “New girl?” she guessed. “I’ve never seen her before.”
“Neither have I,” Katherine replied, looking the girl over, then glanced over at Mitch. He had that flirty look to him, that same look that made her say yes to the first date he asked her on. So was so stupid then. With that look, Mitch could have asked her to have sex in the janitor’s closet and she would have said yes. Kat could easily get lost in the gorgeous chocolate brown eyes of his. In the beginning, she was play-doh in his hands. Stupid. She was stupid. Many people called it the Mitch-Hitch. ‘You’ve been Mitch-Hitched,’ is what you’d hear though the giggles if you told someone.
The sight of the girl slapping Mitch brought Katherine back from mentally beating herself up over this. She snickered; the girl headed over to the cage where the teacher was. Mitch stood in his place, that look of shock on his face was same as it was when Kat hit him. Katherine took a breath, watching the girl for a moment before Mel nudged her. “I’m going back.”
Katherine looked at Melaney and gave a nod. “I’ll be down in a second,” she replied, glancing bath at the girl. She was trying to figure her out, if she was worth talking to. She had to be…
“You want me to take that?” Melaney asked, moving her hand up to take the tray from her friend, she didn’t yank it from her though; she waited for Katherine to let her take it. She seemed distracted though. “Kat?”
Katherine blinked, looking back at Mel. “Hmm?”
“You want me to take your picture back downstairs?” Melaney repeated; her grip on the tray hadn’t loosened.
“Oh. Yeah, sure.” Katherine let go of the tray. Melaney had looked her friend over, trying to figure out what was thought her mind. After a moment, she turned and went back down the stairs. Sometimes she just wasn’t sure. Katherine just watched her go.
“You told her about me!”
Katherine turned to find herself face-to-face with Mitch. “How could I have told? I’ve never seen her before!”
“Yeah, sure. You’re the only one around she doesn’t like me. Which I don’t understand, by the way.” Mitch crossed his arms, staring at her expectedly.
“You’re too full of yourself,” Kat growled, not amused. Mel wasn’t here to stop her now. He made a move, or continued with this, she wasn’t holding back. “Why don’t you actually get some work done, instead of lingering around acting like some god? You’re not, ya know.”
Mitch smirked at her. “Maybe I’m not to you. But you obviously haven’t seen my fan club. Girls everywhere want me. They would have wanted so bad to be in your place…”
Katherine glared. “Shut up,” she growled. “Conceited bastard.”
Mitch chuckled; he lived for this. “You couldn’t handle it,” he continued. “You didn’t like how people looked at you, jealousy in their eyes. I know. I saw it. You tried to ignore it, but you couldn’t. You-“ He was cut off to a punch in the jaw before getting into the wall. Katherine couldn’t take it. The guy was dead. Or, at least she’ll make him wish he were. Mitch tasted blood in his mouth, but still smirked at her. “You can’t stay away. Just need to be close to be…”
Katherine slammed his body back once more, so that he could hear a muffled groan come from the moan. Whatever she did though, that smirk wouldn’t leave his face. “What part of ‘shut up’ don’t you understand?” Kat didn’t realize a crowd was forming. She was just blinded by the rage. She drew her fist back again, ready to hit him. She wanted to, over and over. But someone grabbed her wrist. “Let go!” she growled, looking back to see who was stopping her from beating his brains out.
The new girl stood behind her, holding her wrist. “Is he really worth your energy?” she asked, calmness in her voice as she looked at Kat expectedly, waiting. And just like that, Katherine stepped back. She gave a warning glare at Mitch, who fixed his shirt and spat blood into the nearest trashcan. The new girl let Kat’s arm go.
Katherine looked the girl over, trying to figure out what the hell she did to her. Melaney had been the only one to ever prevent her from beating the crap out of Mitch so quickly. But even then, she fought her on it. Kat didn’t even fight against this girl. She just didn’t get it.
“You’re lucky the teacher stepped out,” the girl told her. “You would have ended up in the principal’s office for sure.”
Katherine took a breath. Yeah, lucky. “Not new territory for me,” she said softly. She’s been to the principal’s office at least every other week for fighting. Her temper wasn’t the best at times. “Mitch just drives me up the wall.”
“Is that his name?” the girl asked, her eyes looking up at Kat. She was taller than Melaney was, but not by much. They didn’t quite look eye to eye. This girl would need a couple more inches.
Katherine gave her a nod. “Yeah.”
“I never let him get to his name. He just threw a lame pick up like at me, and gave me this look like he was waiting me to faint or something. He kept going on and on…”
“And you hit him,” Kat finished, giving her a light smile. But she was a bit nervous and didn’t get it. Why didn’t Mitch have that power he had over her when he had talked to her, but not this girl. The girl gave a simple nod, before sticking out her hand.
“I’m Raevin Natasen.”
Katherine took her hand and gave it a small shake. “Kat Wolf.”
