I'm a dork! But that's an understatement. LOL.
Alright, so I took a photography class last semester, my first time actually in a dark room, and developing and processing my own film. So every now and then when I'm in there thinking.. someone was in there! They're gonna kill me! It was kinda creepy, but awesome at the same time! And I totally wanted to write something about that. So, I started writing this.. a couple days ago. About that thought.. and I thought I'd share it here!
This is just the beginning of it.. I'll post more as it comes up! It's completely made up. All characters and names came out of MY head. Comments are fun! C: (and I apologize for any grammar screw ups.. Word didn't catch them because it's MEAN!)
Soo.. yeah. Without further ado. I give you the beginning of...

Katherine Wolf looked at her watch. Class started in less than five minutes, and she was stuck trying to get her friend out of her reading trance. “Mel! Melaney! I’ll kick your ass if you get me another detention for being late!” Still nothing, Melaney Taylor just turned the page and continued to read. Kat groaned, glancing at her watch. Four minutes. That was it. She snatched the book from Mel’s hand, closing it shut.
Melaney jerked her head up, looking at Katherine sharply. “Hey! I was reading that!” She got to her feet to try to get the book back, but Kat was like four feet taller than she was and add an extended arm to that. It was no use.
Katherine nodded. “Uh-huh, but we’re late for class again, no thanks to you,” she growled, looking at the title of the book and blinked, looking between Melaney and the book cover. “Since when did you start reading about ghosts and crap?”
Melaney snatched the book back then and stuffed it into her book bag. “This is different! These are real local stories, not the fake crap people make up to scare little kids around a campfire.”
Katherine rolled her eyes. “Yeah, and how do you know it’s all true?” She turned to start walking. Melaney followed, walking next to her. “How do you know someone just made it all up, and pulled it off as real?” Kat looked down at her friend. She wasn’t one who trusted well.
Melaney just gave a slight sigh. “Never mind,” she said quietly, looking at the ground as she walked. But after a while, the silence got to her. “There was this one I read about someone mysteriously disappeared from a dark room! And after a while, they’d show up again, dead!” she said quickly, before Kat had a chance to interrupt her, like she does when she doesn’t want to hear about something.
“Mel, please. I don’t need to be freaked out about dark rooms now. Our project is due in like a month!” Kat replied, looking at her friend. She was hopeless at times.
Mel just smirked. “I thought you didn’t believe,” she said, grinning slightly. “That it was all fake.”
Kat sighed. “It is fake! But I don’t need to have that lingering in the back of my mind while I’m back there.” All right, so she’d never confess it, but she does believe this stuff. Ever since Jacklyn, her older sister, was taken by something unseen by the human eye. All Kat saw was a shadow, her sister was screaming, clawing at the carpet while that thing dragged her away, and that was it! She was gone. Everyone said it was a kidnapping. No one would listen to a four-year-old. Her sister was found about a year later, dead in the basement. Kat never told anyone, since no one believed her. She never even mentioned it to Melaney, and they’ve known each other since they weren’t even a day old! And boy, did she ask. Katherine never cracked though. She kept it balled up, and when she was alone would do endless research about whatever took her sister way back when, keep notes in a journal that she kept under her mattress. She never found anything. And she’d just put on this mask and pretend nothing scared her. Be the brave one. It was just who she was, nothing can change that.
Melaney chuckled. “Wow! Kat Wolf is afraid? That’s a first,” she teased, interrupting Katherine’s thoughts. Mel stuck out her tongue playfully.
Kat just looked at Melaney a moment, before shoving her gently. “Shut up. I wouldn’t be talking if I were you. I wasn’t the one who ran out of the fun house because I saw a clown!”
Melaney glared. “I was five!” she grumbled. “You can’t tell me a clown popping out of the darkness didn’t scare you!”
“It didn’t scare me,” Kat replied, grinning slightly, even if it was a lie. It did scare her. At five, everything scared her, since it was a year after he sister was taken. The dark terrified her then. That day they went to the circus; it was only a few months before they found Jacklyn in the basement. But Kat still didn’t run out screaming, like Melaney did. She ran further into the fun house, until she found the room of mirrors, where she got lost in on purpose and balled up and just cried before she found her way out.
Katherine reached for the door to their photography class once they got there, and pulled it opened. The both of them walked into in to the classroom. Thank goodness for all day lab! Kat and Mel signed in and got to work.

Erika Humphrey and Christine Knighte met in middle school. Christine had stood up for Erika, after seeing the same kids push her around day after day. Christine got tired of watching it from over her book and decided to end it. Those kids left Erika alone since then, and Christine and Erika had been friends since. Inseparable. They did everything together. If they didn’t have a date to prom, they just went together. They had their fights, but they never lasted longer than a couple days.
They both went to the same community college, until Erika decided she wanted to be a nurse, and transfered to a medical school, while Christine stayed at the community college still unsure. Until her sophomore year anyway, when she caved into Erika’s begging and pleaded. She studied to be a nurse as well. Christine transfer from the community school she was going to, to the medical school Erika was at.
It was that same year when Erika met Joseph Wolf. Erika’s went had relationships before, but they never lasted long. Erika’s relationship with Joseph Wolf felt different, not like the other jerks she’s dated in high school.
Joseph wanted to be a photographer. But all his life, his parents told him he had to go to school to be a doctor. It’s where all the money was. So he was there, at medical school, to make his parents proud. But on the side, he also studied photography, as a hobby really.
Erika was determined to get a Christine dating again, since things were going so well with her and Joseph. Erika and Christine promised each other in high school that they’d have a double wedding, and Erika was set on keeping that promise alive.
Christine hadn’t seen a guy since the Gerald guy she dated in high school. The jerk cheated on her, after they had been dating about a year. Christine had fallen hard for him, and breaking up with him hurt her so bad. And then she vowed to be a nun. Erika wasn’t going to let that happen.
Joseph had a friend in his photography class that he met the first day he went in there and they clicked like that. Erika met up with Ryan Taylor, to do the approval test, be sure he wasn’t some jerk like Gerald was. She was real tempted to hook the guy up to a lie detector to make sure he doesn’t lie to her. But he seemed honest, and he was a great guy! And funny. Erika was sure Christine would love him.
A couple weeks after that, Erika got Christine to accept coming with her to dinner, meet Ryan. Christine really didn’t like that she was being set up with some guy. But it was the double date factor that reeled Christine in. At least she didn’t have to be alone through this. In the end, Christine and Ryan hit it off, and since then Erika gloated, but made it playful. One of those things that made Christine say ‘shut up’ but grin when saying it.
The four of them graduated. Joseph was a doctor and a photographer. Erika and Christine were nurses and Ryan was a mechanic, and a photographer as well.
April 16, 1986. Christine and Erika had their double wedding. No longer were they Erika Lynn Humphrey and Christine Anne Knighte. But now, they were Erika Lynn Wolf and Christine Anne Taylor, married to Joseph Matthew Wolf and Ryan Samuel Taylor. Then they went to Hawaii for their honeymoon.
September 7th, 1989. Erika gave birth to her first child, a baby girl, Jacklyn Clare Wolf. Christine was her godmother, but Jacklyn called her Auntie.
Two years later, Christine and Erika both found out they were pregnant, at the same time. This was Christine’s first child. All the other times she thought she was pregnant it was a miscarriage. And Christine was beginning to think she couldn’t get pregnant. When she found this out, it was the happiest day of her life.
March 11th, 1991, Christine and Erika were in the delivery room at the same time. Christine was first. At 9:32AM, Melaney Rose Taylor was born. And that night, 11:51PM, Katherine Abigail Wolf was born… The rest was history.
