[RL with Dietrich]

Dec 16, 2009 14:47

Shito walked with Dietrich out of the cafeteria, ignoring the continued titters of the girls who watched the two idols walking together. He had no real idea of where they were going, so he just walked until there were no people around and stepped into the alcove formed by the door to a darkened classroom ( Read more... )

"You're such a little hothead.. aren't you? There isn't a need for it." The frown he wore now was almost as mocking as his smile. It was hard to tell what was genuine with him, if anything was.

"Maimed... you say it as if you look any less different than before. Why, you're glad you didn't come out looking completely unrecognizable. You're still thought of as 'a great beauty'. Do you not see the wonderful elegance in that?"

And that was what pissed Shito off beyond reason. It was hypocritical of him, perhaps, but he didn't like the fact that Dietrich seemed to be mocking everything and everyone, and nothing about him seemed genuine.

"I'm not a hothead," Shito replied archly. "I just get annoyed when some creep is perving over a horrible accident in which a dozen people died. I'm glad that I'm not ugly, I guess, but that doesn't mean it was fun and I should be happy it happened or something."

"Perving! That is- aha..." he was repulsed at the thought - the very word, but his face held an amused smile. "No one wants you to be happy it happened. But grateful you are alive see? It could have been much worse. A dozen and two deaths, is a lot worse."

Without another word and thought, Dietrich stepped into the classroom, boots clicking quietly. "You could have become stitched all over. Like a rag doll."

"I am grateful to be alive," Shito said with exasperation, following Dietrich into the dark classroom. The door closed, and only a small window now lit the room.

He folded his arms, and snorted. "You mean like Dr. Stein."

A chuckle. It was probably the first real sound and show of expression of any sort he had heard Dietrich make. "Yes, like Dr. Stein. If we're relating you to a doll of any sort - I would like to use 'cracked porcelain'. Don't you think that fits a little better?"

Shito's expression darkened. "No," he growled. "I think we shouldn't relate me to a doll at all. Because I'm a human being. How about that?"

"Your temper again. I'd watch it, Shito. If only of course, because you are surely still trying to recover from your incident. And over over-exertion could be very bad for you."

His voice and expression was soft and angelic, and he leaned back against the wall, fingers softly strumming by his side.

"You are a human being. A very lovely one."

Shito growled. "I'll be fine, I think. Even if I have to punch you."

And he was definitely thinking about it. He wasn't impressed by the angelic act.

"So I'm told," he said sarcastically. "There's more to life than looks, you know."

"You're telling this to me? I couldn't care how one looks. Not in the long run, anyway. I love beautiful creatures - who doesn't? But there are many things that makes that creature so beautiful; Shito.

One shouldn't be fooled by outer beauty but you know that."

The anger faded a bit, replaced by confusion. Shito frowned and leaned against a desk, looking up at the older boy with a quizzical expression.

"That's the smartest thing you've said so far," he said, a little coldly. "From what I've seen, beautiful people put a lot of stock in outer beauty. So why shouldn't I think the same thing of you?"

"You'd be surprised how much I know. However I'm not asking you to think anything of me past what you will think on your own." he looked thoughtful for a minute, then pushed away gently from the wall, his arms folded.

"However, I can still answer that for you. You shouldn't use that logic because -- and if only because, I do not use that logic for you. You are a beautiful being and yet; I don't think you to be completely... and utterly stupid."

Shito pushes himself up to sit on the desk, watching Dietrich approach.

"Well, then you're more generous than I am," he retorted. "Because most people are completely and utterly stupid."

He waved his good hand. "But all right, fine, so you're smarter than average. I can accept that."

"Don't get me wrong now... most people - the better half of people, lack the common knowledge the rest of us are so lucky to be born with."

Dietrich smiled at the Shito's words and shook his head softly as hair fell over his eyes. "Tell me, have you always been such a cynic?"

Shito shrugged. "Maybe when I was born I wasn't a cynic," he said. "After that, I learned that people suck, and I never looked back."

He leaned back on his good hand, the scarred right one lying in his lap. "What about you?"

Dietrich actually looked amused. He raised an eyebrow, hide a small chuckle behind his hand and looked straight at the boy.

"Me? I believe people are all the same. I wouldn't call myself a cynic. I see it how it is." what he thought, 'Boring Mindless toys' wasn't quite what rolled off his tongue. "Everyone should be given equal chance. However some automatically come off a bit more.. irritating. Grating. The human race is an infuriating one. It looks like I don't need to tell you such things, though."

Shito shrugged himself. "Then I guess we have something in common. That's great, we both hate the human race in general, and no one outside the room really knows. You show a pretty, happy face to the world, just like I do."

Chika knew, somewhat. Shito had revealed a great more than he had to anyone before while they convalesced in the hospital, but there was still a lot of the darkness in Shito's past, and in his mind, that Chika had no idea was there.
