After speaking to Pansy last night, I've made the decision to return home once more this weekend. I haven't spoken to my father for a while; this should give us the opportunity to catch up once more.

I'm in the library at the moment, and a small group of first years are giggling very loudly over on the table next to mine. If I had my way, I'd be ( Read more... )

So you've met the first years. I had to deal with them earlier this year. If they're giggling, they like you. At least they're not glaring at you.

I can come and shoo them off if you want?

They like me? Urgh.

That would be very much appreciated.

I suggest a large fishing net and a Silencio. Failing that, you could cut a trapdoor under their customary table and cover it with leaves shoddy carpeting and old books, but I don't know if that'd work, considering Pince.

Please don't patronise me.

Honestly, Theodore! I would never patronise *you*--you're one of the few people here that's at least somewhat sensible (when you're not on mind-altering substances, but I suspect the feline of underhanded machinations in that respect).

I was serious. Cho and I, before she got so busy with work, once came up with a catalogue of ways to, ah...minimise the annoyance of younger years. I've added some tricks from AAS meetings to maximise the effectiveness of the catalogue, and if I do say so myself, I think it's quite comprehensive. So, if you're still interested...would you like a copy?

I don't know whether I condone the AAS, though.

Well, although I don't love a lot of the whining that I read about on these journals, I believe that I'd have to do something rather dramatic if a wave of perkiness overtook the students.

...point, actually.

Then again, we haven't really done much permanent to the students. So really it's just an excuse to try out new spells on hapless volunteers. FOR MAGIC. But yes, I do see your point.

Care for just the dealing-with-younger-years catalogue, then?

Well, yes. Or else they just think you're stupid. I'm betting on the first, though.

Righty-o. Will do.
