Hey everyone. I know it's been a long time, but I figure the hit count on this journal isn't that high anyway. Just to let you know what's up with me, the construction staff asked me a few times if I would stay until the 100 house build is up (which would take roughly half the next year). I'm really considering it. I would love to be able to stay and finish what I started, you know? But then there's all the other stuff I want to do. College, for one. I don't want to be 20 before I start college! It's going to be awkward enough, with all those kids that are moving away from home for the first time and are just looking to be led through. I may have been that just a year ago (even though I'll argue that I wasn't), but I've changed so much this year. I just don't know how I feel. If I did stay, I would get off midway through the school year (maybe January?), and I could spend a couple months road-tripping, a month or so in another country, and then do the Habitat Bike Tour in the summer. That would be awesome. It just means putting the rest of my life on hold another year. But maybe I'm thinking of it as I shouldn't. Where is this calender that maps out when I'm supposed to do things? Just because most people start college right after high school doesn't mean that's what right for me. And it's not like I don't want to go to college. I do. It would be amazing to learn so many different things so freely. I know that in the end, my career will require college. So it's definitely going to happen. I'm just not sure if I want to stop mid-stride for it right now. But it does kind of feel like if I took another year I'd be like the couple that keeps putting off marriage because other things are getting in the way. And that usually doesn't turn out so well for the couple. But I don't know how I feel.

Some of the other americorps feel similarly. Angela, one of the other Americorps, will probably be staying. And it wouldn't be too fun to work with her another year. But that doesn't really matter. She wouldn't be living with me, so it wouldn't affect my day-to-day that much. And Corey, another one of the Americorps, is thinking about staying as well. It would be cool to spend another year with him. I think we get along very well. But I don't know. I mean, obviously, who's staying and who's not doesn't really affect my decision. They're just nice perks. I just don't know what I'm going to do. If I do stay, do I really want to stay another year in the Seton Center? It's probably cheaper than finding an apartment, although I wouldn't have to deal with the volunteers. Plus, I'm not sure I would like getting an apartment just by myself. That would be kind of lonely. But it would be awfully fun to have that bill-paying, living alone adventure.

Well, as you can see, this is all still up in the air. I'll update you when I finally figure it out.
