The Rise of the Lucavi (Q&A)

Aug 25, 2010 16:39

Since this is officially the last week of August, I've decided to go over a few questions and plot ideas some of you may have regarding this event.

Q&A

Q. Who are the Lucavi?

A: To reiterate what I’ve said before in this sign up post, the Lucavi are demonic spirits reincarnated from their previous Esper forms. The Lucavi, once known as the Scion of Darkness in Final Fantasy XII, are malevolent spirits who are only capable of walking the realm of living through living hosts. The Twelve Lucavi each represents the twelve different signs of the Zodiac.

Q. How does someone become possessed by a Lucavi?

A: Only those of malicious intent who signs corresponds with the Lucavi of their sign, can become the hosts for these fiends. Meaning, if your character possesses a pure and untainted heart, they most likely won’t be affected by the stones.

However, there is a way to ruin a pure soul…

Q. Why do the Lucavi only respond to evil & sinister people?

A: Contrary to popular belief, the Lucavi do not. They respond to people who possess some sort of malicious intent or anger that a person possesses. Even the nicest fellow can possess a smidgen of darkness in their souls.

This can be in the form of someone seeking revenge for their murdered family or just someone who possesses amoral beliefs. You do not technically need to be evil in order to become a Lucavi, you just have to possess hatred towards something or someone, a hatred strong enough to drive that person into madness.

How this comes about is up to your discretion.

Q. Are the Zodiac Stones related at all the Stellazio?

A: In this story, they are. The Stellazio Coins are unique collectible coins found throughout the world of Gaia. They are an item that are native to Gaia itself and first made their debut in FFIX. They are thirteen Stellazio Coins in all, the thirteenth baring the sign of Ophiuchus. These coins go by the Astrological Zodiac much like the holy stones represented in this plot.

As for how you can find these coins, please ask the moderators to assist you in this. It is up to them whether you find these coins or not.

Q. How many auracite/holy stones are there & how can I get one?

A: There are twelve stones in total, minus the stone of Ophiuchus. The only way your character came find a holy stone is if you ask the moderators for that specific stone. They will create a task or quest for your character to embark upon to claim the stone. How your character find/claim the stone is up to your discretion.

Q. What are the names of the Lucavi and the Signs that corresponds with them?

A: Here's the listing so far of who the Lucavi are and their signs & hosts.

Ultima -- Virgo (Currently in the possession of Mjrn)
Hashmal -- Leo (Oerba Yun Fang)
Zalera --- Gemini (Currently in the possession of Delita Heiral)
Famfrit --- Aquarius (Dr. Cidolfus Demen Bunansa)
Adrammelech -- Capricorn (Rufus Shinra)
Belias -- Aries (Currently in the possession of Firion)
Shemhazi -- Sagittarius (Lt. Commander Jihl Nabaat)
Cúchulainn -- Scorpio (Kain Highwind) Killed
Zeromus -- Cancer
Chaos -- Taurus (In the possession of Relm)
Mateus -- Pisces (**Marked by the moderators**)
Exdeath -- Libra (Prince Rasler Heios Nabradia)

Q. Is there any indication that possession's happening over the day that it takes? Would anyone notice the symptoms of the possession.

A: I am mostly leaving this to the players discretion, but I know for Cidolfus people will be able to tell something is amidst since Famfrit's voice is different than Cidolfus'. While Cidolfus is known to say some fancy lingo here and there with a slightly British accent, Famfrit speaks in a similar manner to the Occuria, meaning his voice is low and raspy.

Also, the Lucavi may seem more prone to anger than any other emotion. This is why Lisa's Kain seems like such a moodier, evil bastard as of late. The spirit within him is pushing him towards the negative.

You may follow this example or do anything else further act out the possession. Remember, these characters will no longer be acting fully like themselves anymore.

Q. Does separation from the stone do anything about the possession?

A: If the stone is separated from the possessed, the link between that Lucavi and its host is weakened. The link between the two won't be completely severed at first until it's been an hour or longer. If a separation like that occurs, the former stone wielder will probably succumb to sickness or even black out.

Q. Say, some of those names on the Lucavi list look very familiar...

A. They should be, especially they are the reincarnated forms of your ancient old nemesies~

Q. Why are the Lucavi so evil? Why do they want to destroy the world?

A. They're demons, what else do you want? They are the reincarnated souls of all the viscous, wicked villains that ever existed in Final Fantasy. These demons care not for the world of men, and they hate everything and everyone unfairly. They are evil. They are the embodiment of pure evil, much like the Devil in Christianity.

Q. What are they going to do in Gaia?

A. It's up to your  heroic characters to prevent the Lucavi from summoning the Blood Seraph, Ultima who is really the High Seraph from FF12.

The whole gist of this plot is, don't let the Lucavi summon forth the Blood Seraph. If Ultima is brought back to life, that means certain doom for all of Gaia. The mission of all you heroes out there is to simply stop these twelve individuals by any means necessary. For the first beginning pieces of the game, the Twelve Lucavi will be trying to find hosts who are suitable enough to house the spirits of their brethren.

Once all five or six of them have been assembled, expect them to start kidnapping women who all fit under the sign of Virgo.

Q. Can I join!?
A: Sure, but you better sign up at this post. After this week of August is done, I will not be allowing anyone else to join as a Lucavi. Victims and heroes are welcomed always, but the Lucavi sign ups end this week.

If there are anymore questions, please feel free to address them here or give me a ring on my aim (drunkpoetry) for anymore discussions.

The plot is starting October 1st, 2010. Be there or be squared.

Q. The stone I want for my character is currently in the hands of another, how do I get it?

A. Good question! There seems to be two auracites that are currently in the hands of two individuals. Now it would be wise for you to speak with those holding the auracite to form a way to have your character steal it from them or such. BUT there must be a logical explanation had for your character to steal the stone from them.
