St. Patrick's Day
Ah-the missionary who was enslaved in Ireland, set free, and then returned because of a burning passion to see this terrible culture transformed by the power of Jesus Christ, and the Gospel of His peace.
It’s funny how honoring this man has turned into another Mardi Gras-except this time, everyone wears green. You’d think we were celebrating Tree Frogs…. by getting drunk, and acting like fools.
I’m usually not the one to bash on culture-but like most “Holidays”, this one makes me scratch my head…. I mean, what does Santa have to do with the birth of our Savior? What does a bunny have to do with the Redemption of the world? And what does all the green and beer have to do with the spread of the Gospel to Ireland?
Anyway, have a great St. Patty’s Day… and for those of us who are Irish, let’s keep in mind that someone reached out to our people while we were a mess-let’s do the same.
