The crack would probably be epic for sure. Even if it has to be unconsciously or consciously projected thoughts that I'm picturing the device picks up on. Especially if Tony got a hold of Steve.

Tony would totally and ruthlessly ask every question he ever wanted to know the answer to about Steve and revel in the blackmail opportunities.

Maria is about ready to shoot Tony. For the past five minutes there's been a steady stream of "LaLaLaLaLaLa" coming from the alien device because every time it stops, Stark calls out an inappropriate question from behind the monitors he's set up to try and decipher some sort of reading from the device that nobody wants to risk moving yet, in case somebody else gets hit. They'd tried removing Steve instead but he'd nearly passed out when they'd tried to move him too far. He said it had been like the device had been fighting to keep his mind connected to it. It looks like it could be Asgardian, but unless Thor's spidey-sense is tingling, they're SOL for the moment on that front. Tony is their best bet right now. Bruce is still flying in. So, she could shoot Tony, really there's no cameras down here, but she'd have to ask Captain America to lie for her, and she actually kind of likes Pepper. Maybe another day.

One can only imagine the inappropriate questions Tony is asking...and which ones get through before Steve ruthlessly censors them! :D

I'm thinking Steve was getting along pretty well with just not thinking, until Tony's questions got so persistent and personal he got angry and snapped, maybe even out loud, instead of in his head, and said something that was wildly untrue, but enough to make even Tony blush and shut up for a second, but then he'd started up again and Steve had started chanting in his head so he didn't say anything else rude in front of Maria. Who actually wishes he'd continued because Tony Stark speechless was priceless.
