Just a second ago, I was looking back at my User Info here on LiveJournal. And I noticed one of my interests was Farr Farr. And that, of course, refers to none other than Jennifer Farr, a girl I used to work with back on the newspaper in high school. I am genuinely interested in where she is, what she's up to, etc. now.
I think I ran into her when she was working at the Wal-Mart over on Shawnee Mission Parkway a few years back. She really acted like she didn't want to see me, but we chatted a little while anyhow. She told me about going to K-State and working for the paper and that she was just doing the Wal-Mart thing as a summer gig. I mean, I wasn't judging, but whatever.
The interesting thing about Farr Farr (as we called her) was her temper and overall craziness. She'd get so flustered at every little thing that happened on the paper. She was our news editor and treated the paper (this is our monthly, crap-tastic high school paper, btw) like it was some paragon of great journalism. Anyway, that's probably why she's better off today (I still have no ethics or attention to detail when it comes to reporting), but it was funny at the time. I can remember this one instance when she was fuming. Ms. Seglem, our advisor at the time, had sort of reprimanded her for something small. Oh no wait, I remember now. She had opened a 20 oz. bottle of soda that immediately started fizzing all over the place. Everyone started yelling, "Farr Farr, Farr Farr!" (okay, maybe I'm embellishing a bit, but everyone was reacting). She got so flustered and crazed that she stomped out of the room, but not before she slammed the now-closed bottle of soda against the wall as it fell into the trash can below.
Oh, Farr Farr. I miss you.
