Attention Book Industry: It's time for a rant!

This rant is directed to the book industry!!

I think that it is incredibly unfair that they are publishing some books in paper back, and some only in hard cover. This rant started this afternoon, with me wanting to get the final 2 books in the Twilight series.
Now, the first 2 books came in the option of hard cover or paper back, but today I found out that the last 2 books only come in hard cover. I am rather upset about this for many reasons. First, I think that it is a low blow made by the publishers just to get a little more money out of the customer. You get the people hooked on the books, then tell them, Oh, btw, in order to finish reading the series you have to spend twice as much. And of course the people are going to buy them, cause they want to find out that happens next.
In my opinion, they would probably make better sales if all the books were available in paperback. Forcing people to buy the hard cover just isn't right. Give people the option as to what kind they want to get. Personally I hate reading hard cover books, because, as dumb as this sounds, you can't read them for as long, because you get hand fatigue. It sounds ridiculous, but it's true. After hours of reading a book in hard cover, your wrist really hurts.
By making paper back books unavailable in some stories, the same things is going to happen that happened to the music industry. They increased cd costs to the point where people turned to their computers, and downloaded it for next to nothing, or for free. It will happen to the book industry too. It would be simple for me to go online, and just download the book. I could read it on my computer, or print it off, if I had enough ink in the printer to do so.
If you want to keep people coming to the book stores, make the books available. Instead of releasing the paper backs and hard covers at different times, release them at the same time. Give the customer the option as to which version they want, instead of making the decision for them.
Hard cover books can get expensive, and the way I see it, by making books available in both styles, the money I save on buying a paper back version could go to buying another book, either in the same series, or a different book all together.
I may be way off about this, but it's just how I feel. I hate being forced in to something, especially when money is involved.

So, just out of curiosity, who thinks I have a valid point? Who thinks I'm way out of line?
This rant was my opinion, I'm curious to know what you opinion on this topic is.
