mid-June

Happy Father's Day!  To my beloved and to my dad, and in my father-in-law's memory.

School ends next week but the summer frenzy has already started.  On Friday night we went to AwesomeCon which was indeed Awesome, and we met up with Z's classmate and her dad.  We saw an incredible female Darth Maul but she was too far away to get photos.  Saturday I saw sore and cranky so we didn't attend the Juneteenth Community Day at the NMAAHC - Z went to see the Nats lose with his friend and his family, and then went to see DC United lose with Mo and a bunch of other friends.

I've revived my Pinterest account by posting covers of favorite romance novels and whom I would cast as the main characters.  I need to figure out a better way to track my reading.  I see Reddit and Facebook requests for recs on specific tropes and I *know* I've read That Book but I can't find it.  I thought about a spreadsheet or re-visiting my Goodreads account, or maybe downloading an app.  I screenshot descriptions of books from Amazon or Goodreads but that's about the extent of it.

I returned from my first work trip last week.  I went to Querétaro, a smallish city about two hours north of Mexico City.  I got a direct from from Dallas-Ft. Worth (and there's another from Houston) so it was easy to get to.  I stayed in the historic center of town and it was absolutely charming.  Even though it was my first visit I felt at home - thank you Spanish colonial empire!
