I got married! Yay! It was a lovely, lovely day. The sun was shining, the day went without a hitch (not without stresses but without a hitch!), and from what we can gather everyone had a great time. It was fun and people really joined in with the spirit of the day. Walking down the aisle was so nerve wracking, but as the song was 'Special Brew' by Bad Manners people were dancing along which helped me no end! Saying the vows was a mixture of tears and giggles and for the photos of us signing the register we suprised everyone by wearing our funky glasses (mine have heart shaped frames, Mikes are fake illuminous green ray bans). We kept it as lighthearted as possible, and that kept the stress levels down. The best mans speech was really really sweet and made Mike cry a little. My dads speech was short as he choked up completely. I did a little impromptu speech about how much I loved Mike and how much it meant to us to have everyone we loved in one room. The chips & ciabatta bread went down well. The evening party was great. About 20 people who said they were coming didn't turn up (RUDE!) which was a bit scary as they had been catered for, but we got on with it and had a great time. There was much dancing and merriment and a lot of laughter. I even have a photo of my brother dancing to the Jam with his tie round his head!! I'll be going over to the photographers tonight to select which photos I want and also pick up a CD with them all on so I can picspam the world after that! In the meantime here's a little one of Emily rocking out while we pretended to sign the register :)
