I had gotten some firewood from scraps leftover from my ROP class and decided it was time to go camping. It had been a couple of months since my last camping trip at the Pan Toll Ranger station up on Mt. Tam, so I called up BIG Matt Boland and asked if he wanted to go. He said "yes" and we (actually I) packed up my van and headed out. We got a late start, around 5:30ish because we were waiting for Danny to give a call back that he never did. He had said that he would be gone for a couple of hours at 12, and with still no call, we finally called him. He wasn't home, but his mom called him up at Jacks and he gave us a ring. He didn't seem so inclined to go, so we set off. Our destination was Camp Taylor in Samuel P. Taylor Park. It's a semi-long ride just following Sir Francis Drake. We finally arrived at the Campground to a big sign saying "full". Being the intelligent guys we are, we hadn't called for a reservation or anything and it was beginning to get dark and we had spent like an hour packing and going to the store to buy things. I really didn't want to go back so I suggested to keep going on. So on we went. We drove. We drove some more. We ended up in Olema where luckily we spotted a sign saying "Campground 1/4 mile". So I headed down the road and obviously long after a quarter of a mile there was still no campground to be seen. So we continued to drive, ended up in Pt. Reyes Station and decided to turn back around when we spotted a sign to Petaluma. Luckily on the way back the way we came, we finally spotted the campground. We drove in, got registered and set up camp. Here are some pix

First thing first, FUEGO

Then our tent

There was an arcade, so Matt and I went and played

Zero Point. I suck at this game. I'm no marksman, and I make myself feel better by blaming my failure on that of a non-operational gun. And then...

Blood Brothers. Now, this was my type of game. I was kicking ass like no other... unstoppable. Matt wasn't doing so hot at this game. He was pumping in quarters as fast as I had with Zero Point.

I was the Indian. So we headed back and chilled.

Here is just a pic of me trying to look hard while sharpening a hatchet.

Matt praising the fire gods.

Matt trying to cut a 2x4 with my pinner hatchet.

It didn't work

He showed that 2x4 who is boss

It got a little cold...

Yeah so that pretty much it. We got there late so we didn't get to explore too much. We plan on going again this weekend and reserving a group site, so if anyone wants to go you are more than welcome.
