Two reviews of the show came out today - one savaged us and the other was much kinder. Both acknowledged what everyone knows - that I have absolutely no problem playing an evil prick on stage.
"Brian Pedaci as Cornwall adds a layer of malevolent intensity, especially when he's performing non-elective surgery on Gloucester's eye sockets" -

The Free Times Other theater news - I've been offered a couple of minor roles in Hamlet directed by my good friend Dave. 9 years ago I played a very young Claudius in the inaugural production of our theater company, but this time around he's going for a more age-appropriate choice for Claudius and Polonius (who will also play the Gravedigger). I'm also too old and fat for Laertes. Horatio is being played by an Equity actor, who is also a good friend. It's only a 9-person cast so Rosencrantz, Guildenstern and Fortinbras are cut in this version. So that leaves me with Osric and the First Player and maybe another minor part or two. But that's cool, because I just wanted to be in the show. The concept is interesting - based on a
1921 Danish silent film, it supposes that Hamlet was really a woman who is forced to live her life as a man in order to preserve the Danish throne.
On a more somber note - our older kitty apparently had a blood clot lodge in an artery - she was listless and had trouble using her rear legs. The vet is holding her overnight and giving her some anticoagulants to see if she improves any, but there's a good chance we'll have to put her down.
