I hide a cringe, bare a toothy grin and suppress remorse
I hinder conversation and neglect social niceties
I am every regretful, embarrassing moment
Aired in front of every distant relative representing lost ties
Tied to false pretense I linger on the edge of recognition
Shying away from attention, screaming for attention
I paint my face in a mask of self deprecation
And wait eagerly for others to attend my masquerade
Awarded costume prizes determine hierarchy
And I do all the awarding, expect not the system to reward
I revel in every failure to communicate
Each others failures in a constructive manner
I construct mannerisms to stimulate decay
And write captions to encapsulate each degradation eternally
Here lies creativity, an overrated distinction
