Holy.crap.
Unexpectedly ended up hanging out with Prince Charming tonight. Our 1st time hanging out. A non-date, if you will...just a casual, chemistry-checking meetup. Things started off a little dicey since we couldn't decide on where to meet. He kept trying to fight my choice of venue: Atlantic Station, which is a shopping/entertainment area with restaurants and bars and stuff. But I honestly did it on purpose because (a) it's relatively easy to find, (b) it's a very public place where there would be lots of witnesses around that saw us - in case he turned out to be an axe murderer and I turned up missing, and (c) I knew there would be a few different options of places within the area to hang out with differing vibes so I would be able to choose appropriately.
First impressions: he's a guy. SUCH a guy. You know how part of the reason why guys love to watch sports on tv is because of the instant replay, so they can relive their favorite moments over and over again? Whereas women are mostly like 'ok, seeing the baseball guy run into and bounce off the way and still end up catching the ball for the out was compelling the first time. so over it by the 3rd watch'. That's what we just did for an hour because he wanted to like...relive...this non-date via post-event recap. The highlights, lowlights (well, actually, there weren't any), the funny parts, the intimate moments. It was like having 'dating tivo' or something. But it was good insight into how/what he's thinking. The vibe was definitely there. We were sitting in the bar and I didn't feel tense or anxious or nervous with him at all. Anyone who knows about my social anxiety issues ought to know how huge that is for me that I felt so relaxed with him. The pressure to be smart or witty or sexy was totally off; we just had a good time in each other's company while being smart, witty, and sexy without forcing anything.
Kiss & Tell: It was one of those moments where you knew there was a moment about an hour or two that it coulda happened...but you waited. So when the anticipation broke and it actually happened, it was exactly what you wanted in the moment that you wanted it the most. "Nothing beats a first kiss" - Amazing.
When we were recapping a la Sportscenter, he told me that he felt like he floated all the way home because he felt so good about the way things went.
Soooo, pending that the night wasn't a hallucination or either of us changing our mind, our real date is later today.
Woowoowoo,
Tica
