Thanks everyone for your happy birthday wishes today. I really wasn't expecting all of the love, but yall came through. As in through LJ, through texts, through my email and voicemail. Everything was blowing up today. LOL! It was all much appreciated and enjoyed, so Thank You again.
I actually ended up having a pretty decent day. I even went and had some C25k-style RUNNING action today, which was a lot harder than I expected it to be. Of course, in typical Tica fashion, there was nothing very easy about how i went about this. I decided to forgo the gym and went running outside....wearing the heaviest running shoes on Earth. Where the hell are my running shoes?!? Oh yeah, they're under my desk at work. Oops :_) The run wasn't really pleasant at all, actually. I could tell it's going to rain soon because the longer I was out there, the thicker the air felt. Also, I missed my old neighborhood. This one isn't the same at all. We could start with the fact that there are no sidewalks here (wassup with that?? *smh@rich people*) It's going to sound ridiculous, but I would be more than willing to drive "across town" over to Grant Park one day, specifically to go jogging in the neighborhood where I used to live. That'd be cool, as long as I didn't accidentally come across the ChantMaster. *shudder*
The call that made my day: they were all nice, but hearing from my brother Q totally made my day. I honestly thought he was just going to stop at the text message, so I was shocked when he actually called me while I was at Publix trying to figure out what flavor of birthday cake I would have. He helped me decide on the cake that most screams "southerner!" to me: red velvet. And I had pepperoni pizza for dinner, because that was his favorite when we were kids. Ah, the memories. There was also strawberry soda because Nito used to always sing that strawberry soda song. Can you tell I got a little homesick today? It was nice to talk to Q, since he's so hard to catch up with. Busy guy.
Speaking of guys, guess who else called me today? NewGuy. I missed his call by accident. Is it bad that I'm holding out hope that he's just one of those people who isn't great at first impressions? I can't believe he remembered about my birthday. *amazed/impressed*
My treat today: I bought myself tulips. :-D
Let's hope 27 is the best year yet!
