[Those with sharp ears may hear a slight crackling, hissing noise. Some may even recognize that as that sound of something burning.]

[Don's voice sounds a bit muffled, as though he's speaking through a cloth of some sort. Always remember your safety gear, kids!]

I have turpentine.

I found equipment to construct a distiller. After a few, erm, trial and error test runs to make sure it worked, I gathered resin from various trees and went about separating the turpentine. I have to admit that a few of the attempts did...not end very well, but this one worked out just fine.

I'm burning a sample of it right now. It's also making good work on dissolving the rubber duck.

[HE SOUNDS SO PROUD. BORING, BUT PROUD]

Hmn... Good.

Have you tested its explosive capability, yet?

I'm not sure turpentine on its own is particularly explosive. Flammable, yes, but not explosive. A lot like napalm, I suppose. At least if it doesn't have gas pockets.

...Though, of course, that doesn't mean it can't be.

I enjoy napalm.

[Probably more than he should, but AHAHAHAH EXPLOSIONS.]

... Precisely what I hoped you would say.

[Don is a teenage boy with a passion for science and engineering. He understands the sentiment perfectly.]

[Please can they be making things explode soon, Ironhide? Please?]

I do know it was used as a fuel at some point in history. Perhaps its combustion capabilities become more...enthusiastic if it's "enhanced" with other chemicals or applied to certain items of a highly volatile nature?

[Yes, yes they can. Bumblebee's gone, Ironhide is itching for something to blow up. Stress relief at its finest!]

We have energon readily available for use... and I have yet to discover what occurs when you combine it with an explosive from earth.

There are various chemicals around here if you know where to look. I might be able to gather up a few different ones other than turpentine, just to make certain we have a variety of samples for comparison?

Hmnn... Yeah. Do that. I can get the energon easily enough.

[He just has to make sure Ratchet doesn't notice.]

Notify me when you are prepared.

Will do.

[He is alone in his room with only the dissolving rubber ducks for company. No one can bear witness to the happy wiggle he does. No one.]

Thank you, Ironhide.

Yeah.

[Pause.]

... Good luck.
