[Those with sharp ears may hear a slight crackling, hissing noise. Some may even recognize that as that sound of something burning.]

[Don's voice sounds a bit muffled, as though he's speaking through a cloth of some sort. Always remember your safety gear, kids!]

I have turpentine.

Distilled tree resin. Flammable, a solvent, has a few crude medicinal properties...

[toxic]

This isn't a perfect sample, truthfully, but it's apparently serviceable enough.

*...Wrong question. Marco knows what turpentine is...kind of.*

Why do you have it, though?

I was bored and had time on my hands. No reason in particular, honestly.

[Almost sheepish there]

Oh...uh, okay.

*He doesn't really get creating chemicals, but he can understand being bored and finding something to do.*

What else have you made?

Erm. Distilled water.

Really it's mainly just the turpentine. It took a little while to find the equipment necessary to distill the resin properly.

Huh. Well...I guess you'll find something to use it for?

Turpentine can be surprisingly useful. I'm sure there's something, yes, and if not at least it's here just in case.

Besides, I have a working distiller of sorts now. Even if the turpentine isn't of use, maybe something else will be.

*Hmm...*

What all can it distill, anyway?

Anything with a volatility in boiling liquid. Oil or alcohol, for example. Or resin.

This is a somewhat cruder distiller than what I'm used to however, so I'm attempting to be cautious about what I use with it. Did you have something in mind?

Not exactly. *Maybe* Mostly just curious.

[Awwww. He'd been hoping for something to play with]

Ah, I see. Well, that's about it, really.

How do you make a distiller, anyway?

[have a thorough run-down of various make-shift items Don found useful and ones to stay away from, then how to put it together because like heck does his player know :|]

-as for using a distiller, however, that's another matter entirely. Have you used one before?

Hm.

*Damn, that's complicated.*

Not that I remember, at least.

Ah, well, it's not too hard to do. Not as hard as actually constructing the equipment, at least. There are books in the library, probably, or someone could show you if you ever had a desire to learn.
