Something I'm far more annoyed at LJ about than the flagging thing*

For those of you not reading Serrana's journal. (well, journal feed.) She wrote an entry noting a major problem with the way LJ handles image posts. (Namely, that unless you opt out, it sticks the 'latest posts' into a feed... which someone has developed a viewer for.. a viewer which gives no copyright information or even attribution. And which hotlinks to the pictures, thus using a lot of bandwidth. She gives directions for opting out and explains in more detail why this is a problem.

Anyway, for those of you who post pictures which you host somewhere other than LJ, this seemed like a good thing to note.

*Honestly, I know many of you are up in arms. And while I think there will likely be some issues, I'm just not that upset about most of it. Except for the burrying 'oh, and we signifigantly changed your functionality in an at first invisible way without telling you' part. That deserves thwappage. (Which reminds me, if you /want/ to see whatever and not have things filtered for you and are an adult, remember to go to your options pages and set it so that searches and such aren't automatically filtered for you. If you do want that, you still might want to check to be sure that it's at the level you want.)
