I'm including below a link to a "pathfinder" that I'm working on for one of my classes. A pathfinder is essentially a research guide with annotations. I chose to use my pathfinder to compile sources about the flute, playing the flute, and sources that would be useful to flutists in preparing their lessons. My primary inspiration was reflecting on that point in all of our musical careers where we realize that we have to look up more things on our own, such as a composer's birth and death dates and all the terms in our music, rather than waiting for our teachers to give us this answers. My pathfinder is designed for younger undergrad flute majors and advanced high school musicians to help them with this transition.
Since many of your are flutists, or at least a musician of some sort, I'd really appreciate any feedback that you could give me, whether about content, design, or even just debugging typos or pointing out broken links. Any help that you can give me would be great; I know that this is about the busiest point of the semester for all of us, but even a five minute perusal would really help me a lot!
(NB: as part of the assignment, we were supposed to focus on only one library or library system, so you'll see some location specific marks)
My Pathfinder PS. This is still a work in progress, so there will be some minor edits going up over the next couple of days. For example, I still have two entries for which my annotation consists of a note reminding me to write an annotation. Please be forgiving :)
