update

Other people updating has inspired me to do the same. I've been in Bloomington for a little over a month now, and I'm settling in pretty well, although I could stand to do some cleaning around ye olde apartment. I need to take care of various other things, as well, like finding a bank. I'd mistakenly thought when I opened my account two years ago that Bank of America was pretty much everywhere in the country. However, BoA seems to be largely absent in the Midwest.

I'm also three weeks into my new degree program, and so far, so good. I'm trying to figure out how to structure my time here. It will either be 3 semesters or two full years. The advantage of the 3 semester route is that I can be done sooner and get on with the rest of my life. The two year route, however, will allow me to space out the credits more so that I can have less busy course loads to give me time to do crazy things like find employment (good for my pockets and my resume!). For that reason alone, the two year route is probably better, but then I come back to the wanting to be done part . . .

I also have to plan my internships (my specialization requires two). I'm thinking of doing one in ensemble librarianship instead of doing both in academic librarianship as this will give me a little more diversification and (hopefully) open up additional career options. Anyway, I'm trying to schedule an appointment with my adviser (who I have yet to meet) to discuss these things.

Basically, school, financial, and professional issues are occupying my life and my thoughts at the moment haha. I'll keep you all posted of any exciting developments :)
