I'm sitting here typing this on my old laptop. It has Windows XP. It's a slow computer but at least it doesn't crash every five seconds as does my desktop computer with Windows Vista on it is that I bought from Dell at the end of last year. If it's not a blue screen of death, it's something else going wrong - failed to start service.... failed to download windows update, blah. I've backed up all my data on it onto this laptop and I think tomorrow evening I'll try resetting its settings back to how it was from when I first bought it. If that doesn't work, then I'll give Dell a call on Saturday. Maybe there's some hardware problem, I dunno. Or maybe Vista just doesn't like me. I don't think the disc Dell gave me labeled "operating system" actually is the OEM version of Vista, which is annoying. If it were, I'd just do a format, and install it from scratch. Except, it's been awhile since I've done that. I used to format computers and install operating systems in my sleep, but that was a number of years ago, and I feel a little out of the loop. Anyway, we'll see how it goes tomorrow.
My question to you is... do you use Windows Vista? And if so, how stable and reliable do you find it to be?
