When you said "come back in time with me..." It reminded me of the ep of Buffy where Andrew is in a Buffy doco and he's sitting in a chair beside a fire smoking a pipe and he says "Come with me.." and ushers his hand for people to follow along with him... I always giggle everytime he ushers people to come with him with his hand it's so damn funny...

Cute story though... But which one are you in the pic?? I want to see a young Mark :)
I thought it was nice of people to listen to you singing even though you didn't have the confidence to look up and watch their faces....
I'm like that I don't sing infront of people even though I know I can sing, and I used to be in the chour at primary school and I knew I could sing back then and because I had others around me they couldn't really hear me, so I felt ok with singing infront of peoples back then... But now I just sing when I know no one is around to hear me... :)

I'mm pretty sure that Mark is the first one to the right of the girl in the white Tshirt in the front row :)

Annnnndd....I agree. Hacky sack DEFINATELY should be made an olympic sport. My mate Justin, like any other good trombonist, keeps a hacky sack in his trombone case. Before we performed in a concert at the townhall we just stood around in a group of about 5 and kicked it around until we got told off........3 times. Teehee.

I think it's probably possible to get to a point where you’re not uncomfortable about singing in front of complete strangers. It just takes gradual exposure, so singing in front of family, and then singing in front of close friends might be a way to start. For me back then I was just rushed into it and I overcame my nerves with time.

I do occasionally sing infront of my mum, or my friend Deanna but it's not much as i'm still not cool with singing infront of people... I do want to take singing lessons one day and then i'll sing infront of anyone who wants to hear me :)
Thanks for the tip though :)
